Doom Eternal 144hz

As soon as i launch the game my monitor s refresh rate changes from 144hz to 60hz.

That s when it hit me even with vsync off and getting 144 fps the game is still treating my screen like it s only got a 60hz refresh rate which is why the game feels not as good as it should. I m most likely gonna use the rx 5700 xt as my gpu. I7 3770s 16gb ddr3 and zotac 1060 6gb. I have tried alt tabbing and changing it back but every time i switch back to the game it will change it to 60hz.

So it seems that for 1440p 144hz gaming the best combo is r5 3600 5700 xt. I m trying to upgrade my pc accordingly for doom eternal s and i m not sure if i should get a 1440p 144hz monitor or a 4k 60hz monitor.
